Get Involved!
We always need more class delegates! A person such as you is needed to represent every class. Check the 'Delegates' page and if your class doesn't already have a representative, please consider volunteering to become your class delegate. If you class has a Delegate you can also help out by volunteering as a Co-delegate. You will get the opportunity to renew contact with you classmates and to vote their wishes at the Annual Reunion. Some will simply share some good memories with you. Contact any Officer or Committee Member or email us to volunteer. Wendy (Doing) Poyer '87 is now your Delegates Chairperson. You'll find her very helpful and encouraging. Email her at WpoohP@aol.com.

Helping Current ACS Students
Our planning committee continues to explore ways to expand our effectiveness. To achieve our goal of mentoring current students of ACS, we are asking members to let us know what their current occupation is, or former occupation, if retired. The individuals who respond, could personally inspire young students, who may not have set personal career goals. Students could seek out ways to accomplish them by contacting alumni who have experience.
Although many students think or feel that because we are a small school they won't be able to accomplish successful things, Afton has contributed to the nation and beyond, through the students. We want to show them, by example, some of the accomplishments of former alumni. Please be willing to provide us with a thumbnail sketch of "your story" if you are interested in helping us. We want to utilize these by sharing it with the students.

Honorary Membership Nominations
Our planning committee is currently looking for nominations of outstanding faculty, staff, etc. (non-alumni) who you feel to be worthy of an ASCAA Honorary Membership Award at our 2009 banquet. If you feel there is someone worthy of this honor, please email Ernie or Susan to get their name on our list.

Boxtops for Education
Did you know? Collecting the little cardboard "boxtop" coupons that are printed on many commercial food items can provide many books, technical tools, and other educational supplies for our students. If you go to the Boxtops for Education website, you will see that these coupons add up to many dollars. This is a big help to the teachers and allay the costs of educational materials. If a child is unable to provide for his/her own supplies, teachers are able to avail the Boxtop program and provide them.
Bring yours to the alumni banquet!
